2008: The Year of the Hybrids!!!
I don’t know why they decided to combine Charles Barkley and Dennis Rodman, but it sure makes for an interesting combination.
The Nike Air Barwin is a combination of Dennis Rodman Air Darwin and Charles Barkley’s CB94. I am totally NOT feeling this. It doesn’t help that it really doesn’t seem to have many elements of Sir Charles. I mean is that air bubble supposed to represent CB 94?
I guess for the people who like the N’destrukt’s then this is a gawd sendz. For me, especially after viewing the Sharkleys (a combo between Barkley CB Max 94’s and the Rodman Shake N’destrukt’s), these sneaks do pass. Now the Sharkleys pass. The pass in a really big way. There will be other colorways on them too so that is a plus.
Even though I like the Sharkleys more than the Barwins (I don’t even like the name LOL) , I hope they do better with the combos. The Sharkleys are great, and true to form, but I just want more out of it. Those Barwins… they are too true to the Rodman. Now if they come out with another hybrid that is more true to Sir Charles then as a trio of sneakers, it is a good look.
Keep in mind that Nike will also do a little something with Air Jordan and Air Force One. Looks like 2008 will be the year of the hybrid.
