Holy $#!@ – John Schneider’s General Lee sold for nearly $10 million on eBay! – Autoblog
This can also be seen at Digg… which of course only end up linking back to AutoBlog… but I’m sure people made their thoughts known on why or how exactly did the General Lee get so much money.
Now since this was done on eBay, and not Christies or something like that, I wonder about if this is a real bid or just some prankster. I mean, what exactly does registering make the bidding more legit
Its the second highest bid for a car and probably looks weird amongst the other top 5 although I don’t know what they are. Then again it doesn’t have ‘the scratch’ in the car window due to the many jump through the window entrances the Duke boys made to get into the car.
One commenter on AutoBlog said, “If that Dukes of Hazzard movie had not come out in 2005 this car would not have sold for this much.”. I wouldn’t think the 2005 Dukes of Hazzard would make the car worth more quite frankly. The movie wasn’t that great if I remember correctly.
I think what will happen is that the car will end up back on auction and then sold for real at around1-3 million. But that is my opinion.
